BLACK WO(MEN) SPEAK: Start Where We Live Speaker Series

BWS: Start Where We Live is a 4-part Speaker Series to be held quarterly  amplifying the efforts and voice of patient-led Alliance member initiatives focused on Black communities.

The MBCA convened the Black Wo(Men) Speak Symposium (BWSS) in conjunction with the 2022 San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium. BWSS brought together over 200 participants with five partners to share patient-led research related to clinical trials, including the Alliance’s own BECOME project.

In 2024, we hope to re-ignite the momentum created with BECOME and BWSS participants with a Black Wo(Men) Speak initiative to address additional identified next steps including improved patient education, training healthcare providers on effective patient communication, and helping patients find and access clinical trials.
