The Metastatic Breast Cancer Alliance (MBCA) is excited to welcome new members to its coalition in 2024. As a national leader in collaborative action, the Alliance continues its mission to transform and improve the lives of people living with metastatic breast cancer. This work includes a strategic focus on advancing research, making clinical trials more patient-centric, removing barriers to standard of care, and integrating quality of life services and care into all treatment planning.

Arvinas is dedicated to improving the lives of people living with serious diseases, including breast cancer, through its innovative PROTAC® protein degrader platform. This technology harnesses the body’s natural protein disposal system to selectively and efficiently degrade and remove disease-causing proteins. SurvivingBreastCancer.org supports people going through breast cancer. It provides a sanctuary of strength, compassion, and empowerment, where those diagnosed with cancer unite to share their stories, learn invaluable coping strategies, and find solace in the unbreakable bond that fuels hope, resilience, and the courage to conquer adversity. NEW INDIVIDUAL MEMBERS
Jamie Carroll
Jamie Carroll is a nurse practitioner working with Mayo Clinic in Breast Cancer. Her clinical interests are in quality improvement within the breast cancer teams, ensuring under-represented individuals have access to quality health care, promoting equity and an inclusive and supportive environment for all patients. She is involved in the RAINBOWS clinic at Mayo, which is an affirming clinic for LGBTQ+ patients with breast cancer. Jamie also strives to improve survivorship for breast cancer patients. She has earned the status of Assistant Professor through Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science. Learn more.
Jo Lynn Collins
Jo Lynn was diagnosed de novo with Metastatic Breast Cancer in February 2019. A mother and teacher with a specialty in Special Education for young children, advocacy has always been part of her personal and professional world. Jo Lynn is currently focusing her attention and energy towards helping people who have MBC connect with resources or support through education and relationship-building. She hopes to make a difference in the MBC community by empowering others to live each day with peace, joy, and intention. Learn more.
Melanie Sisk
Melanie was a mom of two young boys and working full-time as a Registered Nurse when she was diagnosed with Stage 1A Breast Cancer at age 43. Later diagnosed with metastatic disease at age 47, after retiring from her nursing career due to her treatment protocol she dove into advocacy work, co-founding a local support group called Piedmont Triad METsters. Melanie is a trained volunteer with Cancer Services, Inc. and a Peer to Peer Support Group Leader and Light Up MBC State Captain for METAvivor. She is a Living Beyond Breast Cancer 2023 Hear My Voice MBC leadership alumna and a mentor with Project Life. She also serves on the MBC Leadership Committee for Surviving Breast Cancer and is part of the new initiative PIK3CA Pathbreakers. Learn more.
